   We recently moved to a 4300 square foot home, and while our Asus 1900 dual band router works splendidly, there was one room in the house that we got near zero reception. Our router is in the lower level, and the room with poor reception was on the 2nd level. I plugged this in a receptacle at the top of the stairway, connected it wirelessly to our router, and instantly got very good reception in the upstairs room. Great bang for the buck!

   Exceeds expectations. I’ve used other inexpensive Wi-Fi extenders but this one is by far the best. My internet provider gives me both 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks in my home. My router is in the basement and this is the first extender that’s been able to acquire the 5GHz signal from the second level and relay it into the deadzone. Other extenders could do it with the 2.4GHz, obviously, but the faster speed is making a huge difference. Super easy to set up.

   My installation took less than 5 minutes. I have a large room above the garage. My wifi is in my office which is on the other side of a laundry room which we installed sound insulation to keep laundry noises quite. The signal was quite iffy, but no more! It has a dual band for bi-frequency rougters (5/2.5).

   This was my first WiFi extender. My WiFi deadbolt was constantly loosing connection to my WiFi and it burned out the batteries.

   While this will work to extend my router, I've found that in my case it works better to setup each on as its own AP name, and use a network cable to connect to the router. The zone extender functionality just wasn't that good, but having separate AP points for all my outdoor stuff worked. I use them outdoors for my WLED setups, far from the house.
