“The Fat Cat” Cat Backpack – For Larger Cats

Our breathable cat backpack is great for larger “big boned” cats, 2 medium sized cats (yes, you can use it for two cats), or lots of kittens! All of our styles have a clip and bungee for you to attach a leash so your cat can “hang out” of the backpack!

I’m obsessed with this thing. My Maine Coon mix is 17lbs and very adventurous, but I haven’t had a convenient, easy, and comfortable way to carry him around. So far he’s been to Starbucks and the beach. Cat and dog people are all super jealous of his nifty backpack (since it could also comfortably hold a small dog.) He can easily pop his head out to greet strangers, but he still feels safe so he doesn’t freak out. It’s easy to get him in and out of it and he was only nervous the first time I took him out. It’s really easy to carry, the pockets fit my keys, phone, and wallet with lots of room to spare. And I love how I can run the seatbelt through the straps to keep him secure in the car. This is honestly probably the most insane yet totally practical thing I’ve ever purchased.

Just returned from my first walk taking my cat out with the Fat Cat Backpack, and my cat loved it! He's almost 15 pounds, and he had plenty of room to move around and see things through the little bubble, and also lie down when he felt like it. The straps are very comfortable, and I'm about 5'5. I wondered if it would take a while for him to get used to it, but nope. He actually fell asleep on the way back. My only complaint (which really isn't one) is that I couldn't get a picture of him looking through the bubble because of sun glare, and had to take it from the top instead, while he was watching ducks. LOL! It's also quite the conversation piece, as another person stopped me, and said that he had the same backpack, and his cats loved it too! Great purr-chase! (Sorry about the pun!)

I initially got this back pack for our 18lbs cat because it was so hard to get him in and out of his carrier. This back pack makes it a lot easier because I can put him head first in the back pack and zip it up before he has time to turn around and jump out. There’s also a smaller zipper opening. The dome is hard to get on. I’m not exactly sure how to put it on. I just fidget with it and it snaps on. I got a second back pack for our kittens and they both fit in it fine. They were aggressively biting the gate to our carrier so this backpack works a lot better. The bottom has a cushioned floor and is very sturdy. It also folds flat for storage.
