   This is exactly what I wanted for myself to provide an extra sense of security. As a single female renter I always felt a little concerned about the maintenance guys, office staff, previous tenants and any number of other service providers that had keys to easily enter my apartment. While I doubt this little gem will stop anyone who is bound and determined to gain access regardless of the consequences, I do believe it will deter those that attempt entry accidentally or who want to go unnoticed. It installed super easily. It took me longer to remove it from the packaging than it did to install it. I definitely recommend this to everyone who rents.

   I have been trying to convince the wife to Air B&B the house for over a year. She wanted to secure entrance to the main level of the house before agreeing. She wouldn't agree to adding other locks that required screwing into the wall. I have to admit I was really skeptical about this product, however it does exactly what it says it will. I even locked the wife in the basement for some time to prove its worth. Yeah, I will have to sleep on the couch, but it was worth it in the end.

   I ordered my very own after reading through the comments. This 1 piece works great even if the door is not locked. I was kind of clumsy putting the Addalock on my door the first time, but the lock adjusted. The Addalock piece is a sturdy little gadget! Believe it or not, I actually feel quite safe knowing that I have placed something that will resist the attack of a thief. Actually, I purchased this because I was watching TV and it is not unusual for me to hear my neighbor unlocking and locking his door. But this time as I kept listening it sounded like someone was actually at my door. I was not sleep so I jumped out of bed and looked thru the front door peep hole and sure enough, there was this guy bent down trying to break into my apartment. The sound of whatever he was using did not sound like a key. He had no idea I was watching him so I did not say anything instead I

   I picked this up because I travel with my two young kids. It arrived right before a weekend trip to a convention. The "hotel" we booked was more like a motel with the door opening directly into the parking lot. To top it off, we were in the middle of some farmland with NO streetlights at all. Needless to say, the significant other was a little nervous. Addalock to the rescue!

   I am so happy I discovered this product in Amazon. I live in a rented room where there is no lock and I didn't want to request the owner to drill the lock for me. So, this product has been a savior for me. I can finally sleep in peace without having to worry about anyone trying to open the door when I am inside the room. It is super simple to use and also comes with a good manual. It also came with a small red pouch so I am definitely planning to carry it during my travels and use it at hotels or motels. I am very happy with this purchase.

   I keep this lock in my travel bag. I like a little extra security in hotels and when I travel internationally. The door jams/ hardware are all different, but when this fits, IT WORKS. I remember a story from a college friend who was traveling solo in France, and a guy had followed her and somehow managed to get the key to her room after she returned for the evening. He was able to unlock the door and the only thing that saved her was the security chain lock from inside the room (and she made a big scene so he finally left). She got really lucky but that story haunted both of us. When I saw this product, I bough it immediately.
