Read all the reviews and ordered despite the apparent hit or miss on quality. This apache has performed flawlessly. Probably cycled the battery two dozen times now and no complaints. Easy to get the hang of it and fun, especially in an open floor plan with high ceilings. Took a pounding during the learning curve - falls from 20 feet up onto wood floors and a 6 year old who kept the power fire walled after the thing had crashed. - and just kept on flying every time we turned it on. No broken parts yet. The blades do pick up nicks quickly on their leading edges. As cheap as they are, it's a good idea to order replacement parts and a spare battery. Might as well do it at the same time you get the helicopter or soon after. Now just trying to decide which model to get next.

I have had well worth the fun with this little helicopter. It flies for about 5-10 minutes, is suprisingly stable and controlled, and due to the stabilty, it makes it fun working to fly by air vents and land on small pads. I think I would have gotten bored quickly had this thing not required me to really focus and anticipate while I manuver it. That is oddly what makes it so much fun!

After reading some other reviews on here I settled on this helicopter for my 9 yr old son. He loves it! I've yet to try it out, but its so cool to watch it fly. Its controls don't look so precise when he's playing with it, but when my 15 yr old uses it. its very cool how precise the controls are. Forward, backward, up, down, hover. Now my 15 yr old wants one and I'm gonna get him one cause he keeps taking his younger brothers. Might get him a different model, but same brand. Oh and my husband like it too.

This has been a fantastic gift for my 9 year old son. It took a little while to get use to the controls, but after suggesting a couple of test patterns be repeated a few dozens times he got it. Now he has excellent control, and can even fly when the fans are on in the room.

You WILL run this right into the ceiling/walls/cats. But it will just keep flying. Set it down straight again and take off. It takes a serious beating. The flight time is a bit short, sure. But it's more than I would expect from a unit in this price range. It absolutely will not fly outside. The slightest breeze sends it helter skelter in every direction, so don't bother trying, really. It would have to be unusually still for it to work. It is a bit faster moving backwards than forwards, as other reviewers have mentioned.
