Well designed. I throw away the supplied alcohol burner and get the Yama butane burner. Vacumn coffee is great. Expect to spend time cleaning up.

Coffee better than a coffee shop. Easier and less time consuming than pour-over coffee. Fun to do. Buy Hama burner and rubber/steel filter for ease.

It makes awesome coffee!!! From reading some of the other reviews I was afraid it would be difficult to get the water boiling with the alcohol burner, instead we used a butane tabletop burner which we normally use for ShabuShabu or Chinese Firepot. We removed the pot rack and set the stand down so the water was over the flame. Works perfectly and the water boils quickly.

This siphon brewer does what it is supposed to do and it is well designed to do just that. It comes with an alcohol burner that most coffee aficionados know ahead of time is under-powered and requires patience before the water boils. Most coffee-hobbyist purchasers purchase the optional butane burner at extra cost to greatly quicken the time it takes to boil the water. I planned to use it over a small gas warming burner on my cooktop and it is perfectly suited for that use.
