   I use this for my home office in an upstairs bedroom that naturally gets warmer than the rest of the house, but now is even worse with all the equipment I need to do my job (two computers, four monitors, two televisions, and lights everywhere). It's not a big room (10x12). This little unit does NOT cool down the entire room as if a proper window air conditioner would. But it does cool ME down, and frankly that's all I care about (the books on the bookcases don't need to be "cool"). Because the house is centrally air-conditioned, the humidity in the house is already low, otherwise this unit would not be as effective. But again, this little unit is just enough to take the edge off the heat in the room from all my equipment.

   I've been using this for my babies room for sometime now and it works great with the right conditions. I live in 3 store building and my babies in the third floor which gets hotter faster than the rest of the house. The main reason we got this unit is for babie's nap time during the day. Now we do not have to keep the AC on all day in the summer because this can be used instead for the baby and we are just fine with out AC anyway in east-coast. This is not to cool the whole room though, it is a personal device and it should directly at the baby. But it uses little energy and hopefully this will save some money on my electricity.

   We have an AC on one end of the main floor but the opposite end tends to get warm. We're using this on the warm end where windows can't house a unit - just to help with the cooling. It's working great thus far - simple to use.

   This is a good solution for temporary, inexpensive spot cooling. I bought these for my teen's room in our old house. We have no central air, and his room does not have a good window for a window unit. He doesn't want to leave the door open for air flow. This unit cools the space around his desk and bed pretty well. The only con is the water needs to be refilled often because of the small water tank. However, a larger water tank would make it less portable.
