Purchased this back in Nov 2018 and nearly year later it's still going strong. Even though it's not 2k or 4k it still does the job that it's made for. The video quality is actually good. At night the video is decent. I don't keep the camera in the car while parked at home so it's not left in the sun for hours on end. The 24/7 monitoring is nice, had a video of an unkempt man scoping out my car. He left when he noticed the cameras indicator light was flashing.

I did run into the problem with the camera not starting up but it was easy to fix as the problem was with the SD card. Easy remedy is to just format the SD card once a week as the manufacture recommends it.

I also like that the manufacture releases firmware updates, but it would be nice to have a document stating what was changed/fixed.

My purpose for getting this was to have a record in case I was in an accident. Two weeks ago, my car was rear-ended while I was at a Stop sign. The truck driver never braked. He said, "I thought you were leaving." The Vantrue camera showed that I had been driving at a legal rate of speed when I stopped at the stop sign. It also showed that I'd been sitting at the stop sign, without moving, for about four seconds, when the truck driver drove into the back of my car (I was waiting to pull out, into heavy traffic, and a busy highway). When I took the SD card out of the camera, to download the video, it had already been saved into a folder on the car, named EVENTS. I'm so glad to have a record of what happened, during this accident!

This is my 2nd dash cam and this is a superior model. It’s size and shape make it very unobtrusive, allowing for placement just below my rear view mirror. Purchased the optional gps mount as well, and wired in to run off usb.

Screen size is great for seeing that it’s working without being so big it’s in the way. It’s done very well locked in the car in the hot VA summer weather. Also nice that the mount allows the camera to be easily pivoted so that you can record the crazy driver who’s beside your vehicle instead of in front of it.

This product (I have paired with the GPS unit) works really well for the price. There are a ton of settings that work well once you set it up - my recommendation is to only use the 1080p mode if you want to capture license plates. The vibration sensor is always going off for me, but maybe that's because the roads where I live are terrible. The image quality and night vision are less than stellar - but it works. The microphone is fantastic.
