I love this curler so much. Some people don't love it but for me, it's the only one I've tried that can actually get my straight lashes to hold a curl - with or without mascara. And it's so compact, not big and long and bulky like normal curlers. Perfect to keep in a purse. I love it, but I would say probably won't work super well if you have really big eyes! I think the people who don't like it have larger eyes, because then all their eyelashes might not fit in it. But I have what I would call normal sized eyes and it works great for me!

After many years of using the popular US eyelash curler I switched to the similar Japanese version, neither worked particularly well for me. I then found the Japonesque and it fits my smaller eye and does the best job on my skimpy lashes. It doesn't last forever so I always have a backup on on hand. It's comfortable to use and it's shape is easy to store and travel with.

I am shocked at what this curler can do. I have seriously debated ordering 10 for backups. I have never had a curler that is so compact, yet packs such a punch. a traditional curler doesn't even give me a curl this great. I have long natural lashes. my only complaint is that I wish it were wider as my eyes are larger and I have to use it on the inner and outer corners just right. In all, I would highly recommend this. I have used others with this concept because I like the compact aspect, but none that function at this high of a standard.

I have to admit that I was really skeptical about this product. My eyelashes haven't curled for several years now and I've used every product out there from heated eyelash curlers to curling gels to vitamins that are supposed to help with curling. None of them worked, AT ALL.

I find this style of eyelash curler works best with my short lashes. Much easier to see what I’m doing. Also takes up less space than a regular eyelash curler in my makeup bag. I think it uses the same kind of pads/cushions. The Japonesque brand seems to last longer than the Ulta version. Worth a few more dollars for sure.

Takes a few times to get used to. I normally use a metal curler but since the design of this one if different there is a learning curve. Once you get it though it is fantastic. I use it for after the gym and of course on vacation. I love the fact that there is also a spare rubber bumper on the bottom!
