I got this stove as an alternative to carrying cooking fuel on predetermined dry trips. The airflow from the bottom is the key to why it burns so good. Keep in mind that using a bio stove like this is a little messy because of soot. Also you have to let the fuel burn out and the stove cool down before you can disassemble and pack it up. Great stove for the price.

Solidly built, well made. Works really well and isn't really that heavy alone, but if used for backpacking you may feel the weight. But without carrying fuel, it may be a the same as a fuel stove with the fuel. My only wish was that there was a titanium option. but for the price I bought 2.

I'm glad I got this stove, which was cheaper than alternatives. It works like a charm and comes with a sleeve. I keep some work gloves with it since the edges are sharp enough to cut while assembling it. Using only forest litter I can bring a couple quarts of water to a boil in about 15 minutes, enough water for a nice shower. Love it.
