The hands free bicycle dog leash is an essential bike accessory that lets your best buddy run along beside you as you ride your bike. This clamp-on bar holds the dog out to the side, and ensures that the dog doesn’t get tangled up or caught in the spokes.

The secret is an easily installed clamp with a rubber insert that mounts under the saddle seat. The double clip leash has a rigid outrigger handle that you can even use as part of the leash when it is dismounted from the bike . The lanyard snap on the end can attach to the dog’s collar or body harness.

Attaching the leash is no problem, and we even include the Allen wrench to get the seat tube’s clamp on good and snug. All in all, this hands free bicycle dog leash is a great bike accessory that your pooch will appreciate.

This bike-leash is well made, and works very well. The instructions are easy to follow, and there's even a video on the DJ website that shows clearly how to adjust the "breakaway" mechanism (must-do!) for your dog's weight. The leash attaches to either side of your bike, so you can adapt to various settings and conditions. I attached it in seconds, and away we went. My dog knew immediately where to trot, and the moderate pace we established kept her focused on the road, not distractions. At one point, she tried to stop, resulting in a mild jerk of the leash, but not enough to disturb me (and I'm a mature, wobbly rider). Since she's a mature dog and not used to sustained trotting, we're slowly building her range, so she enjoys the experience and doesn't get over-tired or sore.

I was very excited to receive this product. My two cattle dog mixes are hard to keep exercised. The leash was extremely easy to install, especially with the how to videos on this website. I own a beach cruiser type bike with pedal brakes and I was still able to use it. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner!

Works as advertised. I have a 80 pound labrador who I could see was trying to pull to the left to go sniff something, but couldn't. He eventually figured it out and ran straight with me. I love this. I have a doberman pincher who has way too much energy. I would not recommend a bike that requires a lot of balance though. Instead choose a bike with a heavy frame so that you aren't fussing when your dog decides to investigate something in another direction.

Finally! I can safely take my extremely prey-driven dog for a ride w/o fear of her crossing in front of my bike or pulling off to the side. She does provide quite a bit of forward momentum though. I use this with a harness vs collar to avoid injury in case of sudden potty stops.
