Diatom Earth Japanese Bath Mat

Available in three natural colors, using Diatomaceous Earth (DE) from Ishikawa and Akita Prefectures, the Diatom Earth Japanese Bath Mat absorbs water instantly, leaving your feet dry, clean and free from bacteria that traditional bath mats harbor.

This bath mat is entirely natural, with nothing else added and does not require any washing. It’s simply harvested and molded, using craftsmen’s trowels.

Diatomaceous soil is made from tiny, fossilized water plants that existed in the prehistoric period so when you dry your feet, you’ll be standing on thousands of years of Earth’s history!

The secret to the mat’s moisture-wicking quality lies in the millions of naturally occurring, microscopic holes which make it incredibly porous and deodorizing. The tiny particles in the diatomite soil allow water to evaporate quickly in natural air, eliminating the safe haven for mold, mildew, and bacteria.

    I should’ve used this earlier, this is so great mat for bathroom, dry foot so quickly, and won’t leave stain or dirt on the surface, easy clean, I washed it before using, it dried out quickly, I don’t need to wait a long time for drying, just placed it by a wall and it was dried out fast like few mins only, wonderful product, the only complaint is not big enough for me, I bought large size but still have to put 2 pieces together to make it as one large piece, if it could be lager then would be perfect.

    I use this mat as a wedging surface for pottery at home. I love it. It's very thin and the feel is quite smooth to the touch. It dries very quickly and is handy for recycling wet clay. I use the thin pad that came in the packaging to keep it from sliding on the counter. Highly recommend for wedging!

    I didn't know bath mats like this existed, but I love it! No more soggy bath mats. Although my family thought I had lost my mind and put a cutting board next to the tub, they love it now too. It quickly wicks away moisture from your feet - I usually stand there 3 seconds and then step onto the floor with completely dry feet.

    I love this and am about to order for a second time. If you have children that don't know how to dry off before getting out of the tub you need this!!! Personally, I have mine on top of our bath rug right outside the tub because when it is on the bare floor, you will bust your butt being that it is NOT slip resistant. It comes with that little slip resistant mat but I don't trust it Lol. Anyway, having it on the rug will also catch the extra water that may go down the side. I used to have to change my bath rugs every other day from getting soaked and now I do it once a week when I normally clean my bathroom!

    I've had this for about 4 months now. I was shocked that this thing worked. It absorbs quickly. I was looking for something that wouldn't mildew after one use. My old bathmat was terrible with this and even washing it wouldn't get rid of the smell. It also took forever to dry in the dryer. Plop this down and don't bother with any of that hassle. It isn't quite as absorbent as it used to be. I think it needs to be cleaned/filed with the sandpaper they give you. Also, don't be alarmed if it has a shellfish type smell to it when you first get it. That will go away. The mat is made of tiny crustacean like creatures so it only makes sense.
