   Purchased this for my daughter for Christmas. She had fun putting it together, it was rewarding to see it come together and work.. took about a week, with her working a little bit everyday.. Will be Purchasing the locomotive or the camera next.

   sand all the gears, wax everything, once built and you start cranking it, you will hear a screeching sound, but keep going and then it gets up to speed for the little generator to work properly for sound, it does come with adaptors for different size records but you need to take apart the center to change gear size, there is a trick to get the 3 long screws to all rotate and screw into the speed limiter, you just rotate the gear down at the base and the 3 long screws will all start rotating to screw into the top plate for the speed limiter, the hard part to build was the speaker cone, it was like fighting a 8 legged animal,

   Okay it looks really awesome and it technically works, but the handle design is weak. I broke the handle trying to play the record the second time. I replaced it already, but little disappointing it broke so quickly. Secondly, the rate of speed you have to spin the handle to actually get it to play make it very difficult to actually make it play. We enjoy how it looks in our room and it’s a great addition to my collection. I am however worried about running it again and breaking the handle as there was only one replacement.

   We put it together in 2 days (but we typically finish a 1000 pc puzzle in a couple days) Easy instructions and very sturdy when constructed. Great gift for anyone who loves puzzles and models. Wished it just turned on and off instead of having to hand crank it to get it to play but still very neat!
