   Probably the intention is to look as one of those Japanese Ronin back from the Edo period, but be careful when showing this to people! The Umbrella is as it is described. Compared to some feedback, it is not as difficult to handle; i would like that the straps were longer so it would be easier to put this on the back or that it would be practical enough to be put on the waist, but overall it's great.

   Cuts through the rain like a rabid Samurai! Every time I take this out for use in public (where it rains), I always get curious looks and sometimes a question or two. Everyone leaves happier. I don't see too many umbrellas out there improving people's moods. Aside from the looks, the product itself is durable and effective. I've had it for a couple of years now and have not had any major issues. The only problem I had is that the tip near the top broke off at some point, probably because I was leaning on it or smashed it into something in the subway. For the price, some would say that's unacceptable, but whatever. The way I see it, I would have gone through 5 or 6 £10 umbrellas (probably more) during the time I've had this so it's giving me more value than I'd expected. It's also large enough for two people to get under it so that's an extra umbrella saved right there.

   I already had one that I lent to a friend who lost it. So I bought two more. It's sturdier than most umbrellas considering I can hold on to it with a vice grip in extremely high winds and it gives no hint of folding upwards. You can even feel the strength of it when you open it (the force of it makes it tug away from you). Great quality inside and out. And it looks cool.

   I am a picky consumer. With that I always search for the odd, out of place, or unique look of everyday objects. This is a GREAT umbrella regardless of what its details are. This definitely stands up to big winds as well and pelting rain in the Metropolitan area of NY. Then it looks like a handle to a Tanto knife that accompanies the Katana.
