I'm a notoriously heavy sleeper. I often found myself sleeping through my alarm(s). Whether I changed alarm sounds, moved it across the room, increased volume... you name it... I just couldn't stay on my feet. I always found myself back in the bed. I decided that I needed something different to get me out of bed for good in the mornings. After a lot of research I decided to give the Carpet Alarm Clock a chance... I'm glad I did.
As for as the actual product....
The build is pretty good. The mat is soft and pleasant to stand on. The speaker is loud (you can change the volume level and alarm sounds) and everything fits together smoothly. You will need batteries ... I should get a few months of life in between battery replacements.
Operating the Carpet Alarm Clock is a little finicky... the technology seems likes its a few generations behind. Could probably benefit from Bluetooth technology and an app. I wouldn't say it's all bad though. Because of the mulit-step process you'll learn it's a pain to keep resetting. It's easier to set it and just let it run then rather then turn it off and reprogram it over and over again. EVERY TIME you turn it off (whether by the switch or taking out the batteries) you will need to reset it.
With all that being said, I would recommend this to anyone who has problems getting up in the mornings. If you're serious about changing your wake up time or just need the help to get out of bed this will definitely get you on your feet long enough to get your head out of the clouds.
