I loved the way this produced worked initially-it gives off a nice cool breeze for anyone working or relaxing within 4-5 feet. But one day it just shut itself off (the water tank was still full). After that it would not run consistently at all, going on-off-on, on-off-on. I checked the power connections and made sure the lid was closed, but nothing fixed it so I sent it back, and will try another brand. UPDATE-looks like the problem was a faulty extension cord, even though a computer hooked up to the same cord had no problem. Oops. Got another one and it has worked perfectly.

Just add water. No need to plug anything in the window. Add water and you get cold air. It's nice small and affordable. So far I like it and it has three speeds. I didn't know this but if you hold onto the button it lights up blue which is cooler.

Definitely helps cool the air immediately in front of it. In dry climates, refreshes the air by adding humidity. Does require frequent water refilling when running at top speed but it's easy to do that. I use cold water from the fridge. I use battery packs to power it. I love the optional blue light which is great at night. Super easy to slide the top open and to get to the filter.
