Our cat figured out how to open the screen door by clawing the screen... This pet gate offers a barrier to doing that while still allowing air flow. The cats have access to look out and enjoy the fresh air while being reminded that they can not go outside! It is working for us, however it may not stop a very determined dog or child that pushes very hard on it or runs at it with force! I like that it comes with a second set of adhesive hooks & does not require drilling holes in our brand new sliding door!

This is so much better than the usual baby gates I’ve had to use before. It’s easy to react and as it’s flexible the dogs don’t use it to try and climb over it. The material is a type of mesh but does a good job of securing the dog from coming up the stairs. The two poles that go either side are expandable so you set them to whatever you need. The adhesive hooks actually stick believe it or not. Not as unsightly as a baby gate that gets knocked down every so often. Good.

When the kids at home learned to crawl, I spent a lot of time looking for baby doors for our three story hardwood house. I love the simplicity in this gate. I used it to block a stairway that had wainscoting，It's strong enough to hold him back (which says a lot) and is also great because he cannot climb it. The mesh is easily stretchable for the hooks to attach and close off the upstairs or other rooms. Looks good, keeps the kid safe, I recommend it!

I doubt the net would hold back a large dog but it gives the appearance of a barrier without the hassle of a gate.
