   My grandson's room is decorated in an African motif - with murals his very talented mommy painted and crib sheets etc with African animal prints. I first saw this giraffe in the hospital gift shop while my grandson was having a medical procedure to correct a heart defect and fell in love with everything but the price. I looked around online and found the same giraffe here on this website for far less. That made the decision easy - I placed my order the same day. The giraffe arrived in 2 days very well packed. My daughter was really pleased and gave her a boost after our grandson's almost week-long hospital stay. My grandson, at 6 weeks, is a little young to get excited about the giraffe yet! The giraffe stands rounghly 5' tall and is very well made. It also has a very endearing face and is very soft. It's sturdy enough for a small child to sit on (though tall enough that adults should stay close - a fall from the giraffe's back would not be pretty...)

   We bought this giraffe for our daughter for Birthday to add to her massive giraffe collection and it turns out that trying to sneak a 4 foot tall plush giraffe in your house for a week is VERY DIFFICULT! When I opened the box this was shipped in, I immediately turned into a little kid and got giddy, it's adorable and HUGE. My daughter on the other hand was a little freaked out by it standing in front of our Christmas tree and thought it was going to spring alive and eat her. My dog was even worse and refused to go into the livingroom AT ALL until that thing was removed. After she got over the initial shock, she fell in love with it and Christmas night she insisted on sleeping WITH IT in her bed.

   A huge and lovely addition to our nursery. Seems durable, but she's not dragging this huge guy around. Neck has been surprisingly sturdy. So far it's been more furniture than a toy. It's cute, but may be either decor or for older kids. Don't get me wrong, it's the cutest piece next to her crib, kinda' peeks over the side and appears to be snacking on her mobile. It's nice and a bit heavy. There's no question that this guy will stand, he's got pretty firm yet plush legs. He's not rideable by no means either and is quite plush. I think the small eyes are the only firm part, even soft eyelids/lashes/horns. His mouth can open some. His legs are mostly fixed. I think that's it. What a handsome guy. I'll update the review after a year or two of hugs and after a few drags.

   I was drunk a couple weeks ago and impulse-bought this thing since I've been wanting one for FOREVER! our son loves it!! He smiles at it whenever he looks at it. We named him Jeriff or "Riff Raff". It's the perfect thing for his nursery. My sons dad thought it might the thing might be creepy in which case we would take it outside and sacrifice it to the gods, but it's cute!! I'm sure he will be with us for years. Thank you!

   Fabulous!! I have been plotting when my nieces would be old enough to get this for them (for years lol) and finally gifted this to them last Christmas when they were ages 3 and 6. They have had this giant giraffe for almost a year now and absolutely love it! It has survived a whole lot of rides (definitely not recommended - but trying to tell a young child not to ride this big giraffe is near impossible. ;) The good: excellent quality, soft material, strong, sturdy, built to last The funny: ugliest wrap job I have ever done (and I have done my fair share;) yep, I ran around of wrapping paper and he ended up getting a red body and a blue head The creative: absolutely PERFECT to add additional slippers or boots to, or perhaps a necklace, hat or clip on earrings The bad (possibly funny/possibly good):

   This giraffe is amazing... Our boys loved it on Christmas day and will continue to love it. The giraffe is really as big as you think, it comes up to my chin and I am 5' 4" tall. It is a durable and sturdy animal. All 3 of our kids had to "ride" the giraffe and they are 2, 3 and 7 years old! I do not recommend everyone riding this animal but it was fine for our 3 boys. We had a Melissa and Doug Christmas this year, with mostly all Melissa and Doug toys because our children really needed learning toys and durable toys that will not break and their toys fit the bill. The kids love every single thing we got that is Melissa and Doug brand. These toys are the best quality on the market and the giraffe is the finest stuffed animal we have ever had.
