We like the climbing Santa! But on Christmas eve he got into some cognac and fell of the ladder while we were sleeping. After EMT's took him to emergency room and put 5 stiches in his head, he is able to climb the ladder again. We will keep cognac under lock from now on.

I set Santa to climb up the ladder with an automatic timer, set for 5 minutes, at the top of every hour. This item seems well built, and I have even read up on the switches in Santa's hands in case they do fail, in the decades to come (easy fix).

My wife trimmed Santa's beard because it seemed a little long (not much just a little), and I heard it was a problem for another reviewer. The grandkids will "love" this thing !!!!

Cute Santa. Glad we purchased , adds personality to Christmas tree. You do have to stand the ladder at a certain angle or he won't climb but once we figured that out he works well. I like you can turn the volume very low if you just want to watch him climbing without music , it does turn up very loud too which is a nice option. Was a little expensive in my opinion
