I bought this package so that I could have extra on hand in case my teen breaks hers with her extra thick hair, but so far she is still using her first one. The tool is a tiny bit too big to use on my toddler's head for pigtails but works for a single ponytail. She has fine hair & doesn't like to sit still for very long to have her hair done so I primarily bought these for my teen anyways.

Its August and hot and I'm tired of having my long hair in my face even though its in a ponytail. So I saw this and figured that if I put my hair in a bun I wouldn't have it driving me nuts. I really love this thing, its easy to use, just put your hair in the middle of the O and twist in one direction to wrap the hair around it. Easy to close, easy to use. Much easier to use than the old fashioned buns you fix with hairpins.

Some tips I can share with you I think he other reviewers must not have done is brush the hair your twisting really well, I used a little bit of gel in my daughters hair on each section to make it straight and stay together, and make sure the hairs at even lengths when clipping it in the grooves, I held the machine out and slowly pressed the button as if twirled her hair (be careful not to over twirl it I did it at 1st and had to redo it), then I just followed the arrow and turned the machine that way until it was as tight as I wanted it (again don't over twist it) and the picture was the finished product from my 1st time! There are probably some YouTube tutorials of people showing you how to use it but it really was great and easy, I loved the result.

I am sorry for the folks who have had issues, but I have had a great time with mine. I have done from cotton yarn down to embroidery floss. I haven't fully mastered getting the twists even, but they still are pretty, colorful, and fun. We've used them for shoelaces, bracelets, ribbons, etc.
