I've had other cheaper pin pointers, but this one is the best on many levels. Having the ability to detect a narrow area with just the tip of the tip allows me to penetrate the target faster. I've used it as a standalone detector in areas too tight to scan a full-size detector. And its ability to use it in water makes it a "must have" in my metal detector bag.

All I can say is Post!!!! This baby makes metal detection much easier. We found the coins shown in the photo below for about fifteen minutes in our park. In grassy areas with little or no digging. When the metal detector beeped I used the pin pointer and a coin probe that I also bought and the coin was in the exact position the pin pointer indicated. I would never go metal detector without this again. Save time and more loot!

Hubby has been metal detecting for centuries, but his prior pin-pointer 'bit the dust' so I got him this one. He LOVES it and couldn't wait to try it out! It worked great for him on his first time out with it. He even managed to find a few dollars worth of loose change! The report he came back with was that he should have gotten this unit a long time ago since it was so accurate and easy to use. Guess I should have gotten it for him sooner since he is now such a happy camper!

Love this pointer. It's very accurate and very durable. It's one of those things where it's worth spending the money on . There's a bunch of copies of this out there but they do not perform as well and they definitely will not perform well over a long period of time. I use mine quite often for over a year now and it's flawless in operation and performance. I highly recommend this pointer as your first and only pointer you'll need.

Affectionately referred to as the carrot by many metal detectorists, this is a crucial part of any detectorist’s bag. You’re able to use sound or vibration modes to indicate the proximity of metals. The carrot does not have any discrimination mode, so I have had the misfortune of searching a hole for minutes, only to realize that metallic rocks were setting off my buzzes. It’s thin, comfortable to grip, and it’s got a measuring guide on the side to show the depth of a hole. I have tried submerging the carrot in water, and it seems fully water resistant.
