I live on a road that doesn't have any curbs or sidewalks. I wanted something to help remove the grass and dirt that creeps onto the road and help make a nice straight, clean(er) edge. This thing worked GREAT for this project. It was easy to install onto my existing brush extension. It's very heavy duty. I found it best to get the weedeater up to speed before making contact with the grass, weeds, and dirt because of how heavy and gnarly it is.

We've had a sidewalk covered with grass, weeds, and about an inch of dirt in some places. This wheel cuts through and takes care of weeds and dirt. This process took 9 hours to complete. Stretching wheels are great for this very stressful job, but the wheels are down to almost half an inch now, but well worth it! Good to know: I had to see compatibility list and picked a Husqvarna 128LD and it fit perfectly. Installation is simple and easy. Operation will take some time, if you have ever operated a rotary floor buffer, same Idea, it can escape you if you are not careful.

As the headline says, this thing is a BEAST! I have some undeveloped wilderness land in the northwoods that we're working to carve a home site and driveway out of. The biggest problem is that it's OVERRUN with alders, raspberries, and bristly greenbriar. The alders are EVERYWHERE, and many are up to 2"-2.5" thick. I have a Troy-built gas trimmer that I have been using with various metal blades, and they work. But it's always been a ton of WORK to cut through them, and it hurts my back after awhile.I bought this blade as a "Well, what can it hurt to try this" kind of thing. Oh my goodness was I pleasantly surprised! It's a monster that hacks through those alders like butter. I now cut them down so fast that I have to stop and take breaks to give my wife time to catch up with me as she's pulling them out and adding them, to the brush pile. Just this last weekend we cleared a section 30' wide and 60' long that was COMPLETELY choked w/ alders in just 2 hours.

Bought this to edge lawns where I have some very tough grass runners. The grass is an African native, extremely hardy and invasive, and grows way too fast. This attachment gets right to the task of cutting it down, back and any other way you'd describe it. The attachment does take some getting accustomed to, as it is much heavier than the normal weed cutter head, also because this is an aggressive cutter. But that's why we buy things like this - they work! And the final good news - no broken nylon string to fool with!

Does a great job cutting up sidewalk weeds, takes a bit to get used to it though. As you can get too close and bind up string trimmer. Also the kit didn’t have the right sized washer adapter had to go to hard ware store and get something to work. I put mine on a Troybilt string trimmer. I take care of my city block and I wear these out after about 4 blocks.

So I'm giving this product a 5 stars because it's meets my needs. Although the lock nut doesn't fit my Ryobi weed eater the thrust plate does. I bought and returned other products like this because they didn't have a thrust plate or a lock nut that fit my Ryobi. With a little more research on the Ryobis manufacturer website I was able to find the correct lock nut size. When I get the lock nut and install the steel wire I will update this review.
