I got this lefty guitar neck the day before I left on a 3 week trip without my guitar. I had just started my lessons and did not want to go so long without any practice.

Although it does not make music, I was able to learn and practice chords on the neck I worked with it at least 30 minutes every day and I was amazed at the results.

This tool is designed for learning fingering on the fretboard, it is not designed to make accurate sounding musical notes. That said, it works great for it's design, and is quiet enough to use while watching TV, commuting, etc. For me, I use it to practice scales and cords at work or on the bus.

There are a few reviews that state if you're left handed, you can switch the strings to left handed, but my take on that is, why bother? This isn't designed to be musically accurate, so I just play it upside down with the bass strings on the bottom.

Great practice tool for chord shapes. Obviously my form is bad in the picture but that’s for the sake of demonstration. I don’t know why people are hating on it, what else did they expect lol. The cover was stuck on, I had to beat it off with the bottom of a aerosol bottle lol.

I used this at work when I was on long hold times on the phone, just practicing transitioning from one chord to another. It also helped to develop the toughness on the finger tips (that I found to be the hardest part of playing). I still use this when trying to practice a difficult chord to learn.

Some other reviewers complained about the sound of it, but I think they missed the point, this is not for making music, just practicing the chord placement. You would need a real guitar to listen to the quality of the chords.

The item does give you a "feel" of fingers on the board.

It is some what hard to tune. The board is far enough away from the strings that it changes the note that is produced drastically. I hoped for a close muted note sound to practice playing but this will not serve that purpose. It does however give the feel of the pressure that is needed when you play on a full guitar. This would help the beginner but the notes changing so drastically may discourage a beginner.

This is an ok practice tool. It is in no way an instrument to be played. It will help keep your calluses and dexterity from deteriorating during an extended period without an instrument. I again stress, do not buy this as an instrument. Buy it as a practice tool. Do not try to tune it. It's great for what it is!
