   I bought this for my boyfriend who is a whisky drinker. He had something that made the cubes, but they weren’t clear, so I knew he needed one of these. He loves it and uses it all the time. It has helped step up his game when it comes to making drinks for Himself or friends.

   It's called directional freezing. I take ice-ology seriously, and when adding ice to my bourbon, I wanted the same crystal clear ice that most nice bars and restaurants now feature. The method is simple, insulate the sides and freeze from the top down - therefore pushing gases and minerals to the bottom - leaving a crystal clear cube. Simple and easy to use for a party of one or two. You'll have to plan in advance (or use the directional freezing method via a cooler) if you have a party where many cubes will be needed.

   I used it and from my first time it turned out beautifully clear and square cubes. I found that using a warmer/hot water worked best and that if I left it in around 30 hours, the cubes were more solid. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a drink with a large crystal clear cube. No muss, no fuss involved.

   I purchased this after trying several other products that promised to create clear ice that fell way short of that promise. This product delivers exactly as promised. It does take just a bit of effort to remove the mold once frozen but no more effort than trying to open a jar. I’ve found for the best results use warm water (as the instructions say), and use filtered water from your fridge or distilled water.

   Normally I don’t post reviews.... but after 3 other ice blocks, countless whiskey stones, I’ve found it. This product works. Look at my photos. I use filtered water, boil it once, and let it cool. When warm I add to the case, and leave in freezer for 2 days. Perfect. Readers won’t see, but after I bought this 2 weeks ago, I just bought 4 more as gifts for some of my employees. Buy it. Boil filtered water. You won’t regret it.

   The ice cube is clear and is slow to melt in my glass. As a bourbon enthusiast, the first attribute is an incredible aesthetic to add to my enjoyment; the second attribute is a tremendous improvement in enjoying my drink. I had bought an oversized silicon cube maker make years ago and now I use that for storing the ice that I remove from this miracle worker. My thanks for a wonderful product that actually works as described.
