    This was a Christmas gift for my son, it is actually quite Durable except for the glass where the gumballs to go and that is very thin and they do you say to be very gentle with it so that’s the only scary part. we actually use it as one of his little baking tools so he does have to put a coin in to go to get the gum ball but it is super cute and kind of like a novelty piece in his gaming room.

    This is a very sturdy candy machine. My son loves M&ms. So this was a gift for him. He loves it. It was easy to take apart to change the opening to dispense more M&ms. The glass makes me a bit nervous cause of reading other reviews and seeing how fragile it can be. But so far so good.

    This machine is as authentic as it can be. Go with the metal model never the plastic. For an eightieth birthday celebration for one of my old gang from NYC, we were asked for our favorite penny candy from our youth. (Yes, we had penny candy, nickel cokes and a candy store/hangout in every neighborhood). I ordered nine different candies still manufactured as well as dubble bubble gum balls and this machine. What a hit! The machine can easily be set to turn freely or take coins up to “two bits” if you want to use it as a fun fund raiser.

    Every day that I seen my 2 year old niece, she would ask me for a gumball machine, because she received a small plastic one from my mother, so i went on the hunt. I ended up here and I'm glad I did, because she loves it. Before I put it together, I didn't read the instructions about making it free. This ended up making it even better, because she loves to put a penny in, turn the handle, and get the gumball. Most of the time she doesn't chew it, she gives it to someone. The dome is glass and the base is metal, so we never leave her alone with it, and never put it on anything where it could fall off.

    I struggled between sizes, but eventually chose this 12" one. It is made of glass, very high quality and actually requires quarters! You can disable that feature but you have to take it apart. I've set a mug next to it to get an idea of size in the picture attached. It holds nearly 3 pounds of gumballs. I've had other gumball machines but they were plastic. This is very high quality and look how adorbs it is.

    A great gumball dispenser. My fiance and I are using this in our ceremony instead of a unity candle. The base is made of metal, and the globe is glass. This dispenser is made very well and should last many, many years. We are going to spray paint ours bright yellow and the machine is very easy to take apart so this will be perfect.

    As others stated- this should only be handled by an adult with care. Bought for toddler who is obsessed with gum ball machines, but she will not be handling it. The top twists off to load candy, the bottom has a tab to turn to release money from the bank and neither require any tools to do so. Quarter turned nicely and out came the gum ball! Nice weight to it and seems to be very well made. It was so fun to test with our teenage daughter who thought it was cool!

    Great gift for kids or somebody's desk. A lot of the gumball machines you can find anymore are plastic junk. This one has a metal base and mechanism with a glass ball. The machine is somewhat adjustable as far as what coins it takes and how many gumballs it will dispense. It uses small or mini sized gumballs, so no jawbreakers here, but honestly that's fine and ours puts out maybe 3 small ones at a time.

    I wanted to write a review as the ones I read had me concerned about the glass globe. This was a gift for my almost 4 year old and it has survived her well! The coins jam occasionally but she is four so I think it is the user, not the product. Easily fixable, too. Just tip it back a bit and it will clear the jammed coin. I do not find the glass too thin at all. I love that I can put all kinds of things in it besides candy and gum! This is the main reason I bought it. It works great and is super nostalgic! It looks like an antique one I had actually. I definitely recommend and the seller! I hope this is helpful!

The glass is fairly thick, but would most likely easily shatter if dropped. For the price I really think it is well made! I do not, however, recommend buying one for a gum obsessed 3 year old.

    This is a great Gumball machine. I am using it currently for Jelly Belly Jelly Beans and it works great! It provides about 5 jelly beans per crank as it was delivered. I know I can adjust this, but its perfect. Definitely worth the price. Sturdy metal and glass. I don't care for the plastic cover over the hole and my "customers" have complained about this. I am having issues trying to get it off, so will just leave it for now.

    This is such a nice and sturdy machine. We didn't want our son to have gumballs in it and instead are using m&ms and cadbury mini eggs and they fit perfectly. I also love that it can be used as a bank feature so it requires actual money. That setting can be changed but we are leaving it set to the bank. It's made out of actual metal and glass and isn't a flimsy plastic machine.

We also gave one to my sons Kindergarten teacher as they have some reward system and already had skittles as the reward. It's of course a huge hit there as well! I could see so many types of candy that could go in this. I actually didn't read that it didn't come with bubble gum but that was ok as we planned on having different stuff in ours.     Got this for my 4-year-old daughter who would only answer "a gumball machine" when asked what she wanted for her birthday. We filled it with a pound of jelly belly candy we got at the grocery store, and it was great for a couple of months.     I was nervous that this gum ball machine would be cheap and hard to use. But it’s neither! It takes any coin, not just quarters. The only thing that worried me was pouring the m&ms into the glass globe. It sounded like I was going to break it. I was oh-so-gentle because from other comments I knew that was a possibility. I have it sitting on a shelf, safely tucked back away from bumps and scoots. Also- it dispenses 6 or 7 regular m&ms at a time! That’s a good amount to snack on :)

    My kids all loved them and so do I. I wanted a quality product not some plastic breakable thing. Purchased 2 and they both arrived in perfect condition. I CAN NOT STATE EMPHATICALLY ENOUGH, do not tighten the globes screw, just snug it if you don't want the glass to break. It does not need to be tight. Let the kiddo's put in the change and turn for the gumball, don't let them play with it and move it around, it is heavy and the glass is breakable. My only dislike is that they really need to inform us the correct size gumballs to purchase.

Our 'jewels' are smaller than gumballs, but bigger than M&Ms - we set the machine to the smallest opening in hopes of only getting one jewel out at a time, but two come out many times.
