I went from dyed box black for 10 years to very light blonde from November 2017 to currently. My hair is mainly grey now and upkeep on black was very hard. I wanted silver but it's not one of the easier colors for longevity. My stylist did a silver toner first which didn't last long and then a high lift, (I also did a few), to avoid bleach. Then she did a demi-permanent color. It didn't last and I was blonde again. I decided to try this since I always use L'oreal hair color and figured it's a cheaper way to color my hair for now. I really love it! I doubt it will last long since day 2 here I can see the blonde but it will grow out and I will use this again. Silver is just a color that doesn't last long. I love the color, though!

Honestly the best grey hair color I’ve ever used. Your hair obviously has to be lightened before you use this dye, so for those reviews where I see that the dye didn’t take the whole head, it’s only because it wasn’t bleached and toned prior to use. You ALWAYS need to bleach THEN tone (with toner) before using colors like this. Since my hair was already light/nearly white with a very slight yellow tone, it worked great! Covered all the yellow tones and lasts for a long time!

I liked everything about this Silver Gray hair color. Good price. Arrived promptly. Easy to use. The smell is strong during coloring, but the conditioner more than makes up for that. Also, there is enough conditioner to last for several washes. This shade is clearly marked for platinum blondes to achieve the representative color. It also has a chart on the side with results for other shades that I found accurate. My natural hair is thin, fine, white and dry. It was colored dark blonde with white roots, so I didn't know what results to expect. It is now a gorgeous, dark, shiny gunmetal gray that covered my roots completely. It's been two weeks and my new growth shows only a little silver sparkle. This product is unlike any other I've used. The color is unique and my shiny hair feels thick and luxurious. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who wants a spectacular color change, and I have already reordered.

I have naturally black hair bleached to a light blonde, and I used the smokey silver to re-tone my hair. For everyone saying the dye does not work, your hair probably is not light enough. The silver comes out darker at first, but lightens up after a few washes, which is pretty standard. The conditioner that comes with the kit is magic. The only thing I will say though is that it is infused with glitter. Not really a problem for me, but it does get all over your hands.

*Disclaimer- this is a story about trying to achieve silvery hair from dark brown, and the whole process occurred over a period of months. All the bleaching mentioned was not back to back to back* I bleached my hair ultra blonde, with the intent to tone my hair gray. Well, guess what? The toner wore off in three washes. Anytime you are trying to achieve gray hair, alot of touchup should be expected, but the toner held way less than expected. So, plan b, I did a gentle bleach bath to ensure starting with a clean slate. Then I tried Pravana temporary silver color because of the positive reviews. Nope! Turned my hair blue, dark gray, light gray, and parts were green (no I didnt have yellow tones in my hair prior). Last attempt to achieve pretty silver/gray hair

It did exactly what I wanted. I wanted a grayish white and I did NOT BLEACH MY HAIR FIRST. This is the before and after picture so I knew it wasn’t going to be white white, but I wanted a gray tone. If you go to PLATINUM, and put it on and leave in on for bout 10 min max you WILL get that ashy platinum blonde or “silver white” no doubt. Leave it on too long you get gray, that’s the math. I wanted the gray tone cuz I didn’t wanna bleach my hair again. I was platinum whitish before but it’s been a while and the toner faded so I put this straight on. I wanted gray. I liked it. And I got it. I highly highly recommend this stuff. Just remember, the longer you leave it on the more gray you will get. So if you want silver white, I would bleach out your head (if you can) and put this color on as a toner and rinse it out after like 10 min. It gets darker the longer you have it on. So for those people that left it on as long as they did and complained, it’s cuz they didn’t follow instructions.
