Got this for my 89 year old mother who has back issues. She wanted something that was easy to use ( 1 button push for low, medium, high), wouldn't slide around when she lays on it (one side is textured cloth) and had an automatic shut off. This fits the bill on all 3 points. She has been using this for several months now and is very happy with it.

This is your basic heat pad. It’s supposed to provide heat for comfort. That’s pretty much it. This one does it. That said, I will add that this ones’ controls are really easy, it’s heat range is more than adequate, and the two hour ‘auto-off’ feature is a must for people like me that fall asleep or just forget that it’s on. As for longevity, we bought this one to replace the one we had for over twenty years that my grown-up son now has. Oh, and I should add, it seems to be well made, giving me confidence that it won’t short circuit… and cause a fire… while I sleep…. not turning it off.

I love that it's so soft and thick, like a tiny blanket, and I can roll it up like a neck pillow if my shoulders start feeling tight. I also love that it detaches from the cord in order to facilitate cleaning in case it needs it, but the absolute best part is the timer which turns it off automatically after two hours (which is more than enough time for anyone.
