I finally broke down and got a sonic scaler when my dentist told me I had periodontal pockets and would need a deep cleaning. I read somewhere that with regular use of a scaler, I might just be able to reverse those pockets and eliminate that need for an uncomfortable deep cleaning. I gave it a three-month try and it worked! No deep cleaning needed!

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this wasn't the case at all. No leaks and the unit wasn't very loud at all. It's louder than my electric toothbrush, but the volume is very acceptable. The first time I used it, my gums bled quite a bit meaning that it was doing the job of getting rid of bacteria and infection. The next time I used it there was only a little blood and now I don't get any at all. Also, the puffiness in my gum around the deep pocket tooth is now gone. We'll see what my Dentist says at my next visit, but I'm betting that there will be marked improvement. Highly recommended!

I have been using this for a couple of months now and have to say I love this waterpik. I have had dental work done and I put a little salt in a glass with some warm water and mix then put in my waterpik. This really helps with healing my gums and keeps food out of any spaces that can get food stuck. The flosser part works great and you will not be disappointed. The only negative I can find is I wish it had a place to store the spare pics/flosser tubes. I currently have them in a tall shot glass so my hubby can find his easily and not use mine ;) I would purchase this again if needed. Please click yes if this review helped you in any way. Thanks

After reading numerous reviews here, I have to say that it makes a low, vibrating noise when in use but it's not loud (I have hyper-sensitive hearing and can't bear loud noises). If your unit gets moldy, it's because you didn't take 30 seconds to empty the tank and drain the line after each use. Try adding a couple ounces of mouthwash into the water tank when you use it and--just like you can your coffee maker--once in a while run some white vinegar thru the tank followed by two tanks of clear water. It's not rocket science.

I gave this unit 3 stars for travel rating.; it's a bit bulky for travel. But, for home use its a must add for dental hygiene. Over years I had many hygienists and dentists tell me 2 things: get a WaterPik and floss. I thought yea, yea, yea. But with the development of a periodontal issue, the time came when their advice could no longer be ignored. Purchased this model on advice of dental personnel and it is fabulous. I read reviews and agree that maybe once a month, run mouthwash and water through the unit to keep clean. Otherwise, it is a must have.

I bought this because I hate to floss the regular way and am lazy. This little machine is WONDERFUL! It comes with many sized heads to use for different features. I have noticed my gum health is much better now that I use it every day. I would highly recommend this product. It is well worth the money and once you use it you will wonder how you ever managed without it. Your mouth will be so clean. I LOVE this water pic!
