For someone who couldn't get out of bed without snoozing 4 times, this did the trick. I put this in my closet, and I'm up by the time I'm stepping on this beast. It's loud, and via computer, you can set all of the different times for different days. Easy to use and set. Loud...and I mean LOUD. If you have trouble waking up, this is a great solution. My only complaint is that it isn't washable. My dogs sleep on it, and they get it dirty. I'll just buy a new one when it gets too dirty for this obsessive compulsive person.

I've been using this for a long time! Your mileage may vary. If you let it keep going often or have multiple people living in the house (lighting it up/wearing out more) it'll probably last 4-6 months for multiple person households. You can set this pretty darn loud and can choose from various alarm and nature sounds. The sounds themselves aren't great quality since it has a tiny speaker but that's OK. I've used the bird, the ocean and the typical alarm blare but my favorite is the second sound which is comparable to a fire alarm shrieking. You stand on it by default for 3 seconds to turn off the alarm, but you can also connect it to a PC with the provided USB cable and you can set that to make you stand there 30 seconds and you can also set multiple alarms this way. I hope at some point they have a newer model that lets you set alarms from a phone. It's definitely a quality mat. Very soft, doesn't feel clunky, and reliably senses anything that stands on it. The fabric is pretty easy to wash (don't wash the electronics in it!) so I don't regret purchasing it in white. Numbers are easy to see and aren't too bright if it's in a dark room. I was worried about volume, setting the time, and being able to extend the time necessary to turn off the alarm.

First, you have 5 different sounds to choose from and 5 levels of volume with the highest being very loud, this was my biggest concern and I set mine to a 4.

The other two concerns I highly recommend plugging into the computer and downloading their software. Takes 5 seconds and with the advanced set up you can set different times monday-sunday with 2 different alarm times per day. You can also customize how long you have to stand on the mat for, it says up to 30 seconds but I set mine to 45 and it counts down from 45 so basically as long as you want.

UPDATE: I've used carpet alarm clock for 3 weeks now. It is awesome. I haven't woken up and stayed up this easily in a long time. It was really loud, so I put some tape over the speaker holes and now it is perfect. Also, I saw some people saying how you have to reset the clock every weekend if you turn it off, but they are doing it wrong. With 2 button presses you can just turn the alarm off but leave the clock on. I am super happy with this, and have actually moved my alarm to 20 minutes earlier since getting the alarm clock!

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I'm really happy with the carpet alarm clock so far. It's really soft and it was easy to program after taking a look at the instructions. The led light is super bright and the housing for the batteries is sturdy.

The rug is so soft that I actually stand on it when I am getting ready for bed as well, just because it is nice.

So far it has helped me get out of bed, so I can't recommend it enough. I'may a super heavy sleeper and even when I put a regular alarm across the room I still manage to turn it off. I think the fact that I have to stand still for a few seconds is what really has helped so far.
