I used this product when I was asked to make an old-fashioned looking wedding cake for a member of the family. The cake was a 3 tier, large enough to serve probably 100 people or more depending on how the slices were cut. The supports had no trouble keeping up the weight of the cake for the entire ceremony until it was ready to be cut. The plastic rods included looked flimsy to me at first, but were very tough and difficult to cut. As long as you are placing the rods evenly and using them generously, this will work for large cakes such as wedding cakes.
