I'm sure about those who say it doesn't stick. Maybe the wood wasn't prepped. My experience is this works great. Heat up the iron, lay the banding down, Iron, then follow up with a block of wood to adhere it to the surface. Sometimes on the very edge, it may not stick the first time, but I go over it with a second pass, immediately followed with my small wood block and it sticks just fine.Trimming is fairly easy. I don't use the trimming tool. Either a utility knife or light passes with a block plane. I'm sur the trimming tool would get me more consistent cuts. Sands great!I have painted and stained it. Does great with both. It does stain slightly different than the rest of the plywood. Not so much a different color, but a more consistent finish than how plywood stains. Since I make the pieces, I notice that. But, everyone else cant tell the difference.

Put a finished edge on some pantry shelves. I was concerned at first that my very hot iron would melt or discolor finished side of the banding, but this did not happen. After trimming and light sanding of the edges, I got a perfect edge. Very happy with this product.
