This would be fun for school aged children too.
I would recommend this for more of a puzzle game for a dog that will just pick up and drop the ball in the machine to get the reward. My dog likes to run around with the tennis ball after chasing it so this didn’t work for us. The ball rolls too slowly to catch his attention and entertain him.
